Buying my own insurance any suggestion?

My employer will be giving $350 a month to buy my own health insurance. Does anyone have suggestions as to what company might be a good choice to consider in Southern California?  or...at the very least which companies to avoid at all costs (in regards to bariatric surgery)? Thanks!
