Is there any hope if where I work they say the WLS is contracted out? Or do I have to job hop to find insurance that will cover it? I am in Fort Lauderdale and work in a hospital (go figure) If anyone knows of a hospital whos insurance covers it I will go. I am graduating from RN school so I can go anywhere. Thanks!

Hmm...what do they mean by "contracted out"?  Does it mean excluded?  When I use the term "contracted out" , it means I contract with someone else to do the job-but the job still gets done.  This is just odd, confusing wording.  I would find out what they mean by the term. LR

Yes you are right, it is excluded.  Thanks for posting.

I also work in a hospital and weight loss surgery is also excluded. Good luck in finding a job that has doesn't exclude treatment that can save your life. Have you tried looking into working at a VA hospital? The insuranace coverage for federal employees will cover WLS. Check that out.
