United Healthcare Iowa thru Wells Fargo

Hi everyone. I'm new, and was wondering if anyone nows any information about approval with this insurance company. My BMI is 45.8. They told me to be approved it has to be 40. I also have sleep apnea, high cholesterol, and degenertative disc disease in my lower back. And depression issues. Any advice would be helpful and or tips to help this get thru. Please let me know. Hi Pier, I have UHC but through a different employer.  I was told the critieria was min. BMI of 40, min age of 21 and atleast a 5 year weight history documented buy a physician.  Call you Care line and find out what the criteria is for your particular employer.   Give them exactly what they want or more if you have it- I had 9 years of weigh ins documented for them.  I also had  my PCP write a pretty convensing letter that because of my co-morbids (sleep apnea, high cholesterol, borderline high blood sugar) the surgery was a necesity. I submitted my paperwork to UHC on March 1st and was approved on the 8th!
