The waiting is getting to me

I know I need to be patient, but it is soooo hard.  My surgeon's office submitted my RNY paperwork three weeks ago today to Cigna PPO, and we've heard nothing yet.  I heard that they have 28 days to make a determination.  My surgeon's office won't schedule a date until they receive the approval from Cigna.  When I call in, Cigna tells me that they don't see that any paperwork has been submitted.  My surgeon's office said thats what they always say...and she gets the approval anyway.  I am trying to be patient... Thanks for letting me get this out!!

I tell everyone the same story. Don't be patient. Call CIGNA and ask for the status of the approval. They lost my paperwork twice. I would not have know if I just waited a month each time.  I think it is Paul who says the sqeeky wheel .. That's absolutely true with CIGNA.

Did you call a  number at CIGNA besides customer service?  They have no record of my paperwork being submitted?  Surgeons office is telling me don't worry, it is there, just in process...I feel like I am in a loop... Thanks for your response!!

I called the regular customer service number. When I spoke with the individual, as got their name and asked for their help. Once you have a name, it is 1/2 the battle.  Each time you call, ask for the same person. Call daily. If the person you have the name of is not helpful, ask for their supervisor. Get the supervisors name.  You pay good money for your insurance, you should be treated with respect.

Thanks.  I do call daily, but haven't asked for the same person.  I will try that.  Cigna has been very nice but they just don't have any information... ugh...

I know excatly how your feeling, I am still waiting on an answer from my Insurance!  I have a surgery date and I just want to know if I am approved already!!!!!!!!!!  It is sooooooooooo frustrating waiting on an answer 

Thanks for sharing...when is your surgery date?  my office won't give me a date until approved, and the list gets longer daily!  So folks that are coming after me are getting dates so long as they don't have  Cigna.  I understand, and respect this, but it is sooo hard.
