I Got Approved...Finally!
After being denied on November 1st and given a royal run around for months I got the letter today stating that based on all of the documents I submitted for the appeal and a review of the orginal documents they were reversing their decision and will now allow the surgery.
I was so ready to open the letter and see another denial. I had to take the letter to my neighbor and have her read it just to make sure I was seeing the words on the page correctly.
All I can say is WOW!

The way you treat yourself sets the standards for others
Ok Zeta I would sure like to know why you were denied originally. I had a total of 52 pages of documentation and I am being required to do the 6 months diet and exercise. My insurance is Aetna and they are a real piece of work. I hav appealed once and I am now working on my second level appeal and would like to know if you or anyone else has any advice to give me or what should be clearly stated in my 2nd level appeal. I really want to get this over with but it just seems like I am going to have to do the 6 months. Please help if your appeals letter worked. I have hypertension, sleep apnea, arthritis, currently seeing a chiropractor, gerd and 333 pounds 5'5 frame and BMI of 52.
