last month of 6 month question
Deirdre, I think it depends on your insurance. My insurance was Cigna and I ended up gaining a pound at the last month. The first few I lost then I gained .....then lost and in the end, gained one pound. My insurance was submitted on Jan. 30 and approved on Jan. 31. I guess mine didnt mind that 1 lb gain. I would say any loss is good.....but Im not an insurance company. Who is your insurance and maybe someone else can help you out?

2 weeks ago, I completed my insurance's 6 month medically supervised diet and I had lost only 5-6 lbs. I was approved for surgery by my insurance 1 week after I submitted the request ( I found out yesterday I was approved). I think what worked for me was documenting everything, especially previous diets I had been on and they took didn't work. I also turned in a table listing all the diets I've been on and when, how much I lost and how much I had gained. I also submitted medical records going back 10 years showing my "obesity" in the doctor's notes.
Good luck.
Thanks! I am getting so close - I have started a letter documenting my years of weight loss attempts!! My PCP here only has my records from 2000 - which I think is plenty - before that I am not sure how overweight I was - at least for weight loss surgery! I can ONLY hope that my insurance is as quick - if it is I may be banded by early summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck with your journey thanks for responding!
