Hi everyone okay here is my issue and hopefully someone here can help me out with some info.   I finally decided that I want to do the laparoscopic RNY.   But now I found out that my insurance company (Cigna) wants me to do a 6 month doctor supervised diet.  Does anyone here have Cigna and had to go through this before.   I am just hoping that someone has had a positive outcome dealing with Cigna so that I can have some hope.   Did you go to your primary medical doctor for the supervised diet or did you go to a bariatric facility to do it?   Thanks!

I do not have Cigna but a lot of insurance companies now require a 6 month supervised diet. You are better off going to your primary care doctor, as some insurance companies will not accept documentation from the bariatric facility.  Keep on punching through this site and you'll find some helpful advice re: 6 month diet guidelines, etc. Good luck!
