Well my first appeal was denied but I have another level of appeal but I may have a problem.  One of the reasons I was denied was because I am having a had time documenting 5 years of morbid obesity.  I can show it for 2002, 2004, 2005 & 2006 but I did not go to the doctor in 2003.  Any thoughts on how to document this if I did not go to the doctor in 2003?

I've heard that some insurance companies might take a photograph, it would have to have a date printed on it of course, shot during the missing time frame to show that you didn't somehow drop down to a normal size.  It is ridiculous of course, but one of the hoops you must jump through to get insurance coverage I'm afraid.  Also if you went anywhere where they might have weighed you, a gym, weigh****chers, weight loss clinic, etc.,.you may be able to get a documented weight from there.  Good luck with that.

OH my GoSH! Are you serious?! Your insurance company is giving you a hard time because there are no medical records documenting your obesity for 2003 but for every other year!? I guess I don't get it. How absolutely ridiculous is that? I haven't begun the insurance process yet, but that really scares me. It is almost sick to me. I wish you the best. I would check into the photograph idea, I guess. -Karen
