Preexisting Condition Period??

Does anyone know how to get the insurance to cover surgery before my waiting period is up? I found out that my insurance won't cover preexisting conditions until April of this year. I don't know what to do. I could wait the 31/2 months, but I think I will go insane. HELP someone. Kelly

Don't go insane. The law is that if you had a gap in coverage they can impose a waiting period on pre-existing claims.  Did you have a gap? And, did you seek coverage for surgery prior to enrolling with this insurance company? That said, even if you say no, they wrongly  try to claim that obesity itself is pre-existing enough to try to deny you.

The preexisting period began 5-1-06 but I didn't recieve insurance until 8-1-06. I had insurance with my prior job through 2-22-06. I have never sought WLS prior till now.   I don't understand what is the differance if I have it now or in 3 months?  Thank you, Kelly
