Okay just starting out on this and not sure how to handle it...I am a teacher and the requirements they want seem kind of out landish...A psych eval...heck I know I am fat...geeze....I am 6'3 and 425...the problem I am running into is that I do not have a long list of things wrong with me...my blood pressure is just a little high and everything else checks...I have bad knees but that was from when I played ball... I am 46 and know that this is the best route for me. I have been big my whole life but the last 10 years I cannot seem to lose anything...been on atkins, gone to the dr for help but the pills they give me make me all jittery and do not like how they make me feel...I am a coach so lifestyle plays a huge role in my problem. Wife is a bit scared and so not getting much help and she is the one that usually handles the insurance. I keep getting told that TRS Activecare does not like paying for this surgery and will probably get all kinds of denials and that is frustrating me before I even start. A friend of mine who is only 5 years older just had a heart attack and I do not want to go down that path...Any advice on how to get them to help me pay would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the information. I know it is a long journey and I tend to be very impatient about a lot of things. The frustration level seems to grow...I know not telling you anything you don't already know. Well I will try to find a PCP that will work with me. Just moved to this part of Texas so will see what can be done. My old PCP did not think it was necessary so that is where it all bogged down.
