My insurance company, BCBS of Illinois,  requires a 6 month Dr supervised diet, but they also say you can use a comercial diet such as WW, LA Wt loss, etc. I had done LA in the past and so I got my paper work and i called my ins co today, and now they say that I still need documentation from my dr saying that I was on LA. I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO!!! Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

Maybe they mean you can do WW or LA and check in with your pcp each month.  You may have to bite the bullet and do the 6 month diet.  I'm wrapping mine up now.  It was 6 months of tears and sweat, but I lost 37 pounds through it all.  It was actually worth it.

As stated, they want a "physician supervised" diet.  That generally means your own doctor, not just a weight loss clinic doctor.  I have BCBS also and I did use WW as my diet, but I saw my PCP every month and was weighed there and she wrote a progress note indicating current weight and what diet and exercise program I was using.  You must have your doctor write a progress note, it cannot just be a weigh-in.  And it must be 6 consecutive months...you cannot skip a month at any time.  Also, even though it is a 6-month diet, you must see your physician for 7 visits, as they consider the first one a consult.  I don't know of anyone that's gotten around the requirement.  If you have your weights with you and your PCP is willing to document them in their office record and write a progress note for each month, you might be able to use that.  If not, your best bet is to just do the 6-month diet.  Good luck with everything.
