My current insurance provider (Unitedhealth Care) has dropped out of the federal program for the Dayton, OH area.  My best choice looks like BlueCross Standard PPO.  I wanted to get the DS by Jan, but UHC is dragging.  So I may have to go with a BCBS.  Anyone have problems with them?  Do they require extra beyound what is stated in the brochures? Thanks, Lloyd

BCBS isn't that hard at all actually you can go to there website and get there precertification guidelines .... here is the link for the precert guidelines in your area http://anthem.com/wps/portal/ahpprovider?content_path=provid er/oh/f3/s1/t0/pw_a083967.htm&state=oh&rootLevel=2&label=Pre certification%20Guidelines  you can usually go in and look at there med policys by entering the site as a provider although they don't seem to have them for your state you can go into other states and look at the med policys for wls and it will give you an idea of how bcbs guidelines work.... welll anyway hope that may have helped a little bcbs is uaually very fair to member so good luck and i apologize if none of what i'm telling you makes much sense i work with insurance so med policies and precert guidelines just make sense to me i forget what most people do and dont know sometimes.

Thanks, That will really help.  I guess I don't have to worry too much about approval for my WLS, United Healthcare approved me.  But your info will help me down the line when I do switch over to BCBS. Lloyd
