MDIPA/MAMSI

I'm just getting started, but wanted to know of anyones experiences with MDIPA which is MAMSI for the government. Thanks,

MAMSI pays.  They do have some requirements though.

I see your post was awhile back but thought I would reply anyway.  I too have MDIPA and yes it will pay for RNY.  You may already know that you have to complete a 6 month nutrition/diet program with your pcp which just entails going to the doc once each calendar month for 6 months,,,,,,,,,,be sure to have one visit each month, you can be disqualified if you miss a month even by a day and have to start over.  At the end of the 6 months the surgeon can submit for pre-approval.  Be sure your pcp is keeping good records of each visit, and it is a good idea to ask for copies of the record from each visit.  At the end of the 6 months I did not have any problem with approval.  Good luck, hopefully by now you are 2-3 months into your six month plan!  It is well worth the wait, I had my RNY in March of 2006 and have lost 102 lbs. to date,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Lorraine
