Insurance Approved Vertical Sleeve?

HI, I am trying to get approval for a vertical gastric band.  My insurance will not approve it due to the fact that it is not considered "standard". Has anyone been approved for this surgery by their insurance company?  If you have what is the name of your insurance company?  I have Principle and my company is self-funded. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

Is this for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy or the Vertical Gastric Band? You've mentioned both in your topic and question and they are two different types of weight loss surgeries. Anyhoo, I have been approved for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. My insurance is UnitedHealth Care Options PPO.  Good Luck,
