I am approved! Do NOT give up!

Hi all, I was on last year-I was one of the lucky folks to be denied and told I needed the whopping 12 month Diet Failure!!!! At first I thought I might give up. I supposed insurance was hoping so! I have BCBS PPO.  I decided to do exactly what they asked of me this year (Yes-even though I have dieted all my life-etc)I decided that I would do it-document it-etc.  I was still almost certain I would be denied again-just paranoid maybe but I know BCBS can be TOUGH! So-today I called to see "where we were" in the process. I had just reached my halfway pre-op weight loss, which is a prerequisite for insurance paperwork submittals. I left the Bariatric folks a VM and they called me back an hour later. The lady said "Are you ready?" and I said, let me get my paper (I was getting ready to write down more hoops! LOL) and she said okay-you have been appproved! GASP! I swallowed hard and burst into tears. I was NOT expecting it!!! I have a pre-op class on the 26th , which is another pre-req to set the date. I have 12 lbs to lose-and where I am with that weighloss will tell us when to set the date. I know you have seen others tell you before-not to give up. But please-I really thought I was not ever going to get a chance. If it can happen for this hard-luck kid, it can happen for you TOO! Feel free to contact me for support anytime. I just want to say Congrats on your approval!!!  I started my diet in January and will be having surgery on 10/23, so I know what that wait can be like.  Good luck with your surgery!!
