Plain fustrated

I was decline by my insurance company about a month ago which I understand is very normal for BCBSIL. I was told by my surgeon office just be patient we'll handle the appeal, so last week at the support group I mentioned this and was told by the social worker to call the office and ask what the status is. I called and they read  the letter to me (which I received a copy of 3 weeks prior) and was told what "I" needed to do. WTF I had been told all along they would handle the appeal process for me. Thanks for that?! What frustrates me more is that 3 weeks had gone by and I could've  been working on this the whole 3 weeks. Now I'm so frustrated and I don't know where to start. AARGH!

What exactly are they requesting that you need to do?  Is it all items that you can handle yourself, or will you need your surgeon's office to help you? I'd also make it a point to let someone in charge at the surgeon's office that you were told 2 different things and that the process is being held up be misinformation on their part.   Pam
