Insurance I can buy?

I'm a homemaker and covered under my husband's policy which is self funded.  They have an exclusion clause of "no WLS coverage even if medically necessary".  My question is: Does anyone know of a policy I can buy myself that will cover WLS?  I can self pay but if there are problems down the road I want to be covered on it and I don't think my husband's insurance will covered any complications if they arise.  I'm wanting to get Lapband due to having the least amount of complications, if done by an experienced surgeon.

Unfortunately most private insurance policies will not cover WLS and generally if you are obese enough to qualify for WLS, no insurance policy will even write you a private policy.  I hope you find something though, I'm sure there are things I don't know about.  Good luck.

Although it's not insurance per se, I've been thinking of the discount program.  You pay a small monthly premium and get a card for doctors that see you for a reduced fee.  Still not insurance but better than nothing?  Insurance they don't want to pay out for anything, even a surgery that will lower their monthly expenses!

Hi, I noticed you said that you have found a discounted card. May I ask which company or email addresses you found this through. My husband does not have insurance so we would probably do self pay. Any suggestions would be helpful.
