I think I am going to give up

I can't handle this.  I can't handle what insurance is doing.  I can usually handle anything - I've been through a lot in life.  But this time - I think I am going to give up.  It is just not worth making me feel like this. Tonja

Who is your insurance with?  I just got my first denial but now I am doing an appeal.  The insurance company wants to you give up so they don't have to pay.  Don't do them any favors, that's what we pay premiums each month for.  Good Luck.

Tonja---I got a denial letter today, so I know how you feel.  But, I also agree with the other person *****sponded---the insurance companies WANT us to give up so that they won't have to pay!  I plan to appeal my denial and I hope you will do the same---I saw your message about the additional information being sent and it was just sitting on someone's desk at the insurance company.  Unfortunately, that is pretty common.  Keep asking to speak to the "next person up the chain" and keep detailed notes of the dates and times you call and the name of the people you speak to.  Eventually, you may get to the top of the food chain and show that manager how uncaring and unresponsive his/her employees have been!  In other words, shame them into an approval!  Keep your chin up and don't throw in the towel just yet!  Martha

Hello Tonja I got denied twice and today I had my second level of appeal and they seem to be trying to show me which way to go. They thought me that they have an exclusion for obesity treatment but if the word obesity is not used and your doctor requests that the surgery is for treating your sleep apnea or high blood pressure or asthma or something like that that they will consider it and most likely approve me because it will be medically necessary(your Dr. needs to say that) and it is the most effective treatment for all of your conditions.

The insurance is Healthscope PPO.  The problems are with the stupidness of the insurance.  They have everything they need - it's just that they are stupid.  They dropped the ball and aren't in any big hurry to fix the matter. Long story. Tonja
