I'VE BEEN APPROVED POST IT HERE

 I  GOT  A  DATE  6/11/07  3  DAYS  AWAY.  I  WAITED  15  MONTHS.  THANKS  MEDICARE.

I just called my insurance co....UPMC FOR YOU, in pittsburgh, and they approved me!!!  I was denied a week ago because of my bmi being too low, but we resubmitted the day of denial with my updated bmi and a week later I am approved!! woohoo!!!

YAY!  I AM APPROVED.  My paperwork faxed to Aetna on Friday, 08JUN07 and I was approved today! 

I expect to have surgery the last week of June.  I was supposed to have Dr. Lourie in Pasadena, but since he is booked and/or on holiday, the soonest date they could give me was 06AUG07 and that does not work for me.  I need to be at least 2 months post-op prior to my trip out of the country in September.  Dr. Powell, who is both MD and FACS, which Dr. Lourie was not FACS, will perform my surgery.  There was another doctor I could have went to at their practice, but Dr. Powell was my original choice.  Their practice is a Center of Excellence. wheewwwwwwww ... I am happy!!! I am on my way to this being my last summer for the past 14 years as morbidly obese!      

I am approved!!!!!!  BC/BS of Michigan is awesome!   Let the Pre-op begin.  I am so ready for this. Kim

BCBS-HMO- received paperwork May 21. June 12th - I called to see if they had received my pre-certification paperwork.  Was told I had been approved as of yesterday and letter of approval should be sent out today.  Yeah for me.

My insurance called me today, and gave me the verbal approval! Now I just have to wait for the written approval to my dr!!! I'm so excited!!!!  Pier

Yea! for you! That' so exciting!  I'm in the same situation..just called the insurance today and was told it was approved on 8/3! Dr. Eibes' office doesn't have the letter yet. I called them right after. The front lady told me to go ahead and line up a cardiac clearance test though, and that the nurse would call me when they got the letter. I haven't been to the support group yet though (had to work this past Saturday and could not get out of it), so I know I won't get a date until into September.

Woooooooohooooooooooo!!!!! Just got off the phone with the insurance company and I am approved....just waiting for my letter now so I can schedule!!!!

  I am happy to tell everyone that I am approved!!  I have Empire BC/BS.......I was told it could take 30 days for them to review and it was not even 2 weeks.. I was approved by them 1.5weeks.....Good Luck to everyon on their joruney.......May God Bless
