I'VE BEEN APPROVED POST IT HERE

Wouldn't you know it...earlier today I posted about my frustration with my insurance company-and just an hour later thay called to tell me I have been approved. This has been a long, trying road with many hoops and bumps.  I had the initial seminar last October and my consult at the beginning of November.  After going through all my testing and a denial letter from insurance, I did not give up.  I had to do a three month physician supervised diet-which I finished April 9.  Aftre all my documents were sent from my surgeon's office, it took my insurance company  25  tortorus days to finally say "YES, YOU ARE APPROVED!" I am so glad I stayed the course-and won!   Good luck to everyone who is in the pre-approval stage! Lisa R

I got my approval yesterday.  I will get my date on Monday.  I pray for a June date.  When I got my approval I was on my insurance website and kept hitting update until I saw it there, then it appeared as APPROVED!!! I wanted to both scream and cry at the same time. I never knew I had a weight hanging on me until the aprroval came in then I felt it leave. I went for my consult on 05/09 got APPROVED on 05/15.

I got my approval for Lap Band today from Blue Care Network Michigan!!!!  I feel like I won the lottery.  I've jumped through all the hoops and did the 12 months of dr. supervised dieting.  I never thought this day would come, but am SO THANKFUL it finally did.   

I just got my insurance approval today! Yipee! I am so excited! No date yet, but I'm getting closer!

I'm APPROVED!!!!!  My dr's office reviewed my chart on Tuesday the 15th, submitted on Wednesday the 16th and it was approved on Friday the 18th!!!!!! I just found out today though, verified with the dr's office that they rec'd the approval and now I'm just waiting for them to schedule.  The coordinator will be calling to schedule on Friday!!!!  I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!

My denial has been overturned and I am approved!!!!!!

amazingly enough, after being denied just 6 days ago for having a bmi under 40, network blue new england approved me after my surgeon called and spoke with them today, on his day off! and he was nice enough to call and let me know!  my surgery date is june 20th!

Aetna approved me in just three business days!  I'm very excited.  Send me a message if you have any questions about what I submitted or how I met their medical necessity.

I have Aetna as well and I am doing the 3 month "multidisciplinary" approach--can you give me any info on how to keep my paperwork in order so that I am not denied--I don't have a lot of faith in my PCP and I am scared that her lack of knowledge with WLS might get me denied--any info you have would be so helpful!

I had my initial consult with my surgeons office on April 19th. Had my psych consult on May 4th. Doctors office submitted on May 8th. Approval phone call on May 23rd.So 1 month and 4 days after my initial consult. Still waiting to schedule because the insurance company got stupid after approval. You can read about it on my profile!
