I'VE BEEN APPROVED POST IT HERE

Hi. I have Lumenos insurance. Barix in Ypsilanti submitted all the required documentation on October 4th and I was APPROVED on October 9th.  After I had found out the date Barix had submitted everything  I sent  a message to my insurance company via their message center and they responded on the  next business informing  of the approval. I received the official approval letter in the mail today and immediately faxed it over to them. Now just waiting for a date.

I was approved by United HealthCare for RNY, it took 6 weeks to get the approval.  They denied my first request for a VSG, so I went ahead and submitted for RNY just to see if they would approve me at all.  They did . . . so now I am appealing for the VSG.  If my appeals are not approved by 1/2/08, I will have RNY.

Finally! I got the call!  I have been aprroved AND I have a date, this all happened within the same phone call from my Dr.    My Dr. submitted my information to BCBS/NC on 10-18-2007  and I got the call on Tuesday  that they approved me for surgery and they gave me a surgery date of November 27, 2007.  Yea Me!

My insurance is through my husbands union. It is a self funded program and therefore exempt from Maryland's law requiring coverage for WLS. So we went through all the motions and were prepared to be denied. BUT they approved it just 10 days after it was submitted. My DR office had never worked with this local before, but did say that typical they don't have much luck with the unions.  I am so thankful to God for this being so quick and relatively easy.  Best wishes to all of you! *edit to add- surgery date November 27th, 2007

My papers were submitted 10/25 and my approval came thru on 10/31 woo hoo-It took a week

UHC (choice plus ppo) recieved my paperwork 10/31 and I was approved 11/2 woot!

I won my appeal!  ObesityLaw was instrumental in helping me get this done.  Aetna denied me back in August but I got the letter today saying they have reveresed their decision.   Yahoo.  Started the process with consult in April, started the Aetna requirements in May.  I was hoping for the approval with  the 3 month program.  Submitted for approval in August and was denied for having dropped below 40 bmi a couple of times in the past five years.   (During weight loss cycles) My docs office sent my file to ObesityLaw and they accepted my case and submitted my appeal end of September.  Got my notice to today that the insurance company has reversed their decision!  Got my sugery scheduled this afternoon!  DECEMBER 20, 2007!

Finally after 4 weeks of trying to get someone to call me from Humana I got approved today while on the phone with them.  It's funny how I have been leaving messages for the nurse who was reviewing my case for 3 weeks now and she would never call me back then last week I got to speak to the bariatric coordinator and he assured me that he would mark my case high priority and that the nurse would call me well she didn't so today I called the main number for Humana and asked who their president and CEO was and she refused to tell me so I told her I would find out on the internet and so I did.  I then called the bariatric team operator and asked her if she had any info on my case and she said it was pending.  I asked her if she could confirm who the president and ceo was and she did then she said "wait a minute" so I held and low and behold the nurse that I have been trying to call for 3 1/2 weeks got on the line and after talking to her a little bit she approved me while on the phone so I thought that was interesting?  Anyway I guess the squeeky wheel gets the oil?  

I was approve today after one week of just submitting my paperwork to ins. I'm bless to be havin this surgery an GOD is good !
