Today I finally got the call that I got approved.  It took me 9 weeks. This has been a hard go and yesterday I was ready to give up. Thank you Lord for getting me here. Tonja

Hello, all...I just got my call that I was approved after just one day.  I have bc/bs of S. Carolina.  I made sure I had all my ducks in a row and worked very closely with my surgeon's office staff.  Everything was turned in late yesterday afternoon and we had approval by 9am this morning...the fasted they have seen that they can recall.  My consult is scheduled for November 1 as I don't want to have the surgery until December so I can do it between semesters...I'm a full time grad student so that will give me time to recuperate as well as stock up on supplies.

After 4 months of lost paper work and re-faxing trying to get approval, I changed insurance carriers and got approved in 3 days. I will be getting my date soon!!!

Hello Pat!  I am so frustrated about insurance.  I have United Healthcare of Tennessee thru the school system (in  Georgia) that I work for but they have bariatric surgery excluded...no matter what!  I have been trying to find a possible private/individual carrier that may cover it.  Who did you change to and when you did, did you have to do anything special?  Was this considered pre-existing?  Please, please, please let me know if you can help me in ANY way.  Please, I am desperate!  Good luck to you with your NEW life.  Thank you and good luck.  God bless.   Amy S.
