Approval for RNY after denial of Lapband

I got the letter from the insurance company today. After they denied approval for the lapband (because my BMI was over 50), my surgeon resubmitted a request for the RNY.  I got the approval letter exactly 1 week after the insurance administrator at the surgeon submitted it.  I'm very excited! I haven't spoken with the surgeon's office yet, but I see a bright future on the horizon.

WOOHOO.  Congrats.  The lapband is easier to get if your BMI is lower, but you do lose slower.   RNY or DS are also very good procedures.  I'm sure you'll do great, so now you have to start posting photos.
