What/How do you do an EXTERNAL REVIEW???

Well my surgeon basically said today, he was out of ideas & I'm on my own for now. On my last denial appeal I was sent an "Request for External Review"   Is there a cost to me to do this?? Any insight on this??

It depends upon the State.  Some states its free, some there is a small 25 or 50$ charge which can be waived if you ask.   External reviews are great because an independant set of "eyes" reviews your claim.   No connection to the carrier or you other then being contracted and reviewing your medicals.  It is normally a much better route to an approval then going through the carrier.
