UHC stinks!

Tell me why it is that some plans cover it, and of course mine doesn't. I have choice plus...I know some choice plus's do...mine don't!!! Is it just me? Is it personal??? I've bothered Gina and Gary so much I thought I'd let some steam out here....each day is a toss between crying or gettin' mad! I'm gonna give them a run for their money though, I'm gonna be a thorn in their side til they give in....it's "health" insurance for god sakes, that's what it's for!!! I was given good advice, thanks Gina, I wrote a letter to my state senator, it made a little noise....he actually wrote me back, and is asking for an investigation. Everyone needs to make some noise and we'll get more states forced to approve gastric bypass surgery. Hello! I have UHC also, Choice Plus and mine doesn't cover WLS either.  I feel your pain, believe me.  I am so angry witht them because they told me THREE TIMES it was covered only to deny the procedure when my surgeon sent in a review.  I am interested in what you said about writing a letter to your senator.  Can you give me some info on that?  What did your letter say? Thanks a bunch!

i, ya know...I didn't use big fancy words, I found his e-mail on the google website, I sent him 2 e-mails....I explained to him how I have a family, and this affects them too. I explained to him how my health was deterioating all the while time was passing me by, how no other insurance company will take me,  that medication co pays were making me poor, and simply how I want to see my grandkids someday grow up and at the rate I'm headed that won't happen. I told him it doesn't make me any less of a person and I deserve a healthy life just like every one else.....within one week, I received a letter back from him stating he was writing a letter to the Ne. Dept. of Insurance and asking for a full investigation. Seemed very interested, and helpful...says he will follow up with me after he receives this report. I'm working with Gary viscio also...and I'm big yeah, and I'm loud.....I'm not taking NO for an answer, I've got more time than money and I can be a thorn in their side for a very long time!!

Be a thorn.   I met with Senator Clinton's assistant in 2005.  I spoke to her about the surgery and the benefits and she told me, "OUR focus is on prevention not treatment"  Uh, ok, if I get healthy won't my family?  Nope.  Not interested.  Keep pushing them.  UHC doesn't get away with it in every State, but they do in others.
