Policy Exclusion Doesn't Say Medical Necessity... IS THERE HOPE???

I've been thinking about WLS for over a year now.  When I found the nerve to contact my insurance provider, I was informed there was an exclusion.  Well that was enough to stop me cold in my tracks.  Here I am again and willing to go the distance.  Reading the numerous postings has given me some hope but I have to admit I am scared of rejection.  So I am hoping you guys can give me some advice.  I finally obtained a copy of my SPD and this is how it reads..... Gastric Bypass Exclusion The (my employer) plans do not cover any surgical procedure to restrict the intake of food or other nutritional material or to divert the passage of such material through the digestive tract, includiing but not limited to gastric bypass, gastric balloons, jejunal bypass, and stomach stapling.  It doesn't say anywhere that it won't cover WSL even if it's a medically necessity. From what I've read in some of the other postings, a lot of insurance carriers won't budge if that's written into the exclusion. I am hoping because "medical necessity" was not include, I may have a chance at having the procedure approved.  What do you all think?
