New to OH

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I also have a question. I am 24 yrs old, with Federal BCBC, and have been sitting and waiting for them to cover Lap Band or really any type of surgery. I have hypertension and father passed away two years ago because of hypertension at the age of 51. I just want to live and start enjoying life. I lost 100lbs on a liquid shake diet, and gained it all back as food became my drug of choice to deal with my depression after my father's death. I dont want to go through all the crap again, and would like to get healthy and change my lifestyle once and for all- and I feel a surgery would be my best option. Has anyone had luck with Federal Blue Cross/Blue Shield in getting their surgery covered. I cant pay for it on my own. Thanks, sone078

Are they saying they have an exclusion for weight loss surgery or just the Lap Band?
