Humana KPPA
I am going just a bit nuts. I've talked to Humana 3 times and have gotten a slightly different story each time.
Yes they cover weightloss surgery... The only thing I"m not 100% sure on is whether they require a 6 supervised diet.
Because when I asked one person they said, " you must successfully participate in a weightloss reduction program." For 6 months in the last year.
Then I talk to another one and they say it depends on what your doctor says in the necessity letter....
Another just tells me it's covered 100% if medically necessary.
I've requested a copy of my policy for the second time. This is crazy.
When I spoke with the lady at the Bariatric center she felt like I would not be required to be on the diet for 6 months.
I went ahead and started a diet with my PCP today. I also talked to another lady that has the same insurance and she said when she talked to them they didn't mention the diet at all.
I could have started it a month ago if I'd known they needed it.
Anyone out there with this insurance??? Thank you.
Have you spoke with the surgeons office yet? They might know better what their requirements are. You might call them back an ask for the pre-authorization department explaning you need specifics on what they require to have submitted.
I've lost over 400 pounds!
I love helping others, if you have a question just ask!
