This is sooo pathetic!...

I was going to get blood work on sat. which called for a 12-16 hr. fasting! Which means I was not suppose to eat for 12-16 hrs. Well!! I woke up in the morning hungry as all heck. They told me to eat nothing, but only drink water! Guess what! I felt like I was going to die because I hadn't eatin' in only like 10-11 hrs. I seriously felt like I was going to pass out! I was saying how hungry I was every commercial break that came on the T.V! I kept thinking about the chinese food I had in the fridge, and ended up eating 11 1/2 hrs. in. Maybe even less. I used the excuse in my head "Well...my moms probably going to be too tired to bring me so I man as well eat, and wait until tomorrow". Can you believe that! I was so freaking ashamed. How can I not go 12 hrs. without eating?

I'm sorry Nichoel, but I don't have a smooth pat answer for you. I just know the surgery did not render us unable to eat, just for a small time generally. Sometimes our apetites can act like monsters I would ask if you were able to get your blood work done? I hope so. Don't give up and don't let this stop you from trying. Take care. Kenya

Since my surgery if I don't eat small meals or get something in my stomach I feel like I'm going to pass out or feel light headed and it's due to my blood sugar dropping. Our bodies act differently after having WLS. If I must have blood work done then I go early in the morning when the blood place opens and that's 7am here in my area of woods. Donna
