Hello to All, I am about 6 weeks post up as and now have been given a menu plan from my dietician of what I should be eating. She has my protein at 75 grams a day which is fine. I can handle string cheese, little light land o lakes cheeses, yogurt the bunny carb something not the light 85 but when I try to eat food like meat forget it........... the food comes right back. I cut it up small. I make sure it is slow cooked moist. I just can not seem to keep this type of food down. I am alittle concerned. But being I can keep the others down I do not feel it is a stoma problem or is it I wonder? I have some food ideas.......... and I was told if you can not handle the protein go back to food processing the meat and putting a small amount over steamed veggies with some cheese so I may try that. Any other suggestions. I am tired of throwing up. Hugs to All that are having food issues....... Charla

it took several months before i could get meats to go down and stay down. the first thing that went down well was ground beef. now ground beef doesn't agree with me. i was probably more than 6 months out before i could eat any kind of chicken or pork, even deli meat. i got my protein from protein drinks and cheese. i also ate refried beans with cheese and sour cream. sometimes i ate grits with cheese and scrambled egg mixed in. there is very little now i can't eat (at almost 9 months out) it does get better. my surgeon kept suggesting tuna salad with cheese made really moist but i can't stand the smell of it. but i'll eat shrimp any day of the week! good luck! Charla, I am 2 mths out and seem to be running into that problem as well. Most of the time I can handle lunch ok with meat but dinner makes me sick. I have bought protein shakes to offset what I am not taking in but any suggestions you can toss my way that you come across would be helpful! Good luck!
