I had surgery in January of 2004. I have lost 80 lbs but, I am always hungry and eating everything all the time. I have gained 10 lbs and so scared that I will gain it all back. My will power is gone and I am going from being very happy and enthusiastic about my surgery to very depressed. I want so much to have the body I never did. I have always been fat. According to my BMI I have gone from Morbidly Obese to just Obese. I know it's great what I have done so far but I am going back to my old habbits. I'm not excersising or anything anymore. Please let me know there are others that have done the same thing but have been able to catch themselves and get back on track. I truly need inspiration again. I have gone from size 26 to 18-16. That feels good but so afraid of climbing up again. I know it's an addiction but, I'm not able to get a handle on it anymore. Please let me know there is someone that can give me support that did the same things I am doing Thank You, Carol

I wrote the same reply to somebody else...thought I would copy and paste for you. Hope it helps... I will be 4 years post op in the beginning of September, have about 12 more pounds to go. Try these, they have been the crux of my success... 1. Write down everything you eat even if it is something that you think is "off limits!" 2. Measure everything you eat...if you are eating outside the home, ball park it, but get good at making guesstimates by measuring everything you can! In other words, know what a serving of pasta looks like, or an ounce of cheese, or two tablespoons of dressing, and keep a running total of the calories that you eat as you eat them (I walk around with a large calorie counting book and a pad of paper)...you may be shocked! 3. Read all labels...if it has a lot of crap in it, don't eat it! 4. Weigh yourself every day. If you are writing down what you eat and taking responsibility for what you put in your mouth, you will know why and how you gained weight. Don't let a 10# weight gain turn into a 60# gain by ignoring reality. 5. Exercise every day...30 minutes of walking will change the shape of your body. You don't have to be out of breath, just get out and move! 6. PLAN, PLAN, PLAN what you are going to eat every day! Make a meal plan for the week, or a day ahead and get the foods that you need to stick to your plan! 7. Stop playing the old tapes in your head that got you to be morbidly obese! You are successful, you can do this and you deserve to live a life that is healthy, normal and reasonable...but you have to make it happen!!! 8. Guess what? That pouch that your surgeon told you about that is so small and will limit your intake of food so that you will lose weight...you know the one? It isn't the size of your thumb anymore!!! You can probably eat much more now than you could weeks and months post-op...right? So it must be bigger...right? Here is the my big secret (free for those reading): THERE IS NO SECRET!!! THERE IS NO CURE ALL!!! IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE THE LIFESTYLE CHANGES THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL AND KEEP YOU THAT WAY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9. Think of how much more successful you are today than in the past and build on your success. It takes a while to catch up with what you look like today, so go to the pictures of you when you were really fat and compare how you are today vs. then. Keep the pictures with you always. Show them to other people. This will reinforce your success! 10. Most important...the unthinkable is acheivable...just take control of your life and know that everybody has ups and downs, it's what you choose to do with them that will make all the difference in the world!!!

Hello Carol, nice to meet you. You know the same thing happened to me in my case I had Social Anxiety and my Pschy. prescribed me something to relax, so far so good so if nothing else works try talking to a therapist maybe your problem is not the food at all. Good Luck to you and let us knows how you are doing. Celi
