Rice?

I am pre-op but I have learned to cook rice differently then I used to. I used to add 2 cups of rice to 4 cups of water. Now I add 1 cup of rice to 4 cups of water. I end up with very close to the same volume but half the rice and its softer and less sticky. You might try this and see if it works for you.

I have always been a white rice lover. But! I eat it on very very rare occasions now after my surgery. Why, you ask... I am extremely serious about getting my protein in, and rice will fill you up and add no real protein (but some serious carbs and calories) to your daily intake...
Now, if I go to the Thai restaurant, then I cannot NOT have me some rice! If I go for sushi, I have very little of the rice so I don't get full and can have even more sushi
