Feeling Yucky

Hi, I had my surgery on 3-3-05, I've lost about 36 lbs so far. I am not feeling so wonderful. 1. I can't satisfy my thirst !! 2. Sometimes I am not sure if I am hungry or just plain yucky ! 3. After I eat I never feel full, I just weigh the food or measure the drink and ONLY eat or drink what I was told the limit is supposed to be. I was told that I should be eating 4 - 4oz meals, and the fluids I am confused about I drink about 1-2 20 oz waters or juices (sugar-free) every day. My hair and skin is extremely dry still. sorry to say but this is a period after surgery that you will just have to wait out. just follow the instructions you are given and try things gradually. i went through the same thing and i know its hell but it will get better it has only been a month and a week for you and you have a ways to go. when i had my surgery my nose was super sensitive everything stunk to me i had real bad breath i could smell funk on my skin. this is a real hell period. i couldn't get enough to drink also and unlike you 4 4oz meals a day were impossible and i still probaly don't eat that much and i had my surgery 1 year and seven months ago. but i can assure eventhough it takes awhile things will become more normal.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly ! Everything tastes funny to me too. I smell funky stuff on myself too, weird huh?? The only things that I don't mind eating are very limited. I can't wait until this period is over !! I want a green salad soooo bad, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers etc .... I just hope that it doesn't disappoint me like everything else has. I don't mind not eating it's just that everyone keeps telling me that I have dark rings under my eyes so I automatically feel that I am not eating enough or right and I really hate that I feel like **** How much weight have you lost so far ? Did you have dark rings under your eyes too ? Do you have problems sleeping?

I feel the same way. It doesn't matter how much I drink I can't get enough. Of course the only thing I can drink is water. Crystal Light and just about everythiung else is so sweet I can't stand to drink it because it makes me sick. I am so sick of water I can't stand it. I can't eat 4 oz. yet, I try but it just won't go down. I had my surgery on 3/17/05. This is the hardest thing I have ever done just to be honest. Do you go through depression days boy I am having them and I absolutely have no engery. If I happen to say something about being tired my husband starts fussing saying I'm not eating enough and that I'm not doing what I was told to do. I have tried to convience him I am doing what the doctor says but he don't agree. I'm sorry I didn't mean to unload. Just wanted to let you know that you aren't along in these feelings. I just keep hoping and praying that this will end soon. Hang in there. Donna
