Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Here is what I learned to do during my post-op to keep myself calm: I would try this pizza recipe(if you can tolerate these items): Use a slice of lightly toasted bread & spread Ragu pizza quick sauce on it(found beside the spaghetti sauce). The sauce may kill the craving but if you just can't take it use fat free cheese on top. Use very little of the ingredients so that you are VERY calorie cautious. I find a may to make variations of recipes because craving things for long periods of time only cause disaster for me! I try to make the lowest calorie & lowest fat versions to get the craving to disappear. Most times you only want it because you are not suppose to have it. Try GNC for their liquid vitamins. They have a few that can be mixed with sugar free juice & they don't taste bad. Try Tropical Oasis liquid Multi vitamin. Try this trick to get your liquids in: Mix a little unsweetend juice(or very low sugar versions) in the blender with lots of ice. Keep it handy all day. The ice melts & waters down the juice then you'll have a flavored slush to sip on all day. If you feel sleepy more than likely you are dehydrated. Lack of protein also made me feel this way. Make sure you are getting your fluids & your protein! You'll feel much better. I also noticed that once I started walking/exercising I felt 100% better. Hope I helped a little. I'm no doctor but these things really helped me along. I've lost 35 pounds in 4 weeks so I think I'm doing pretty good! You have to feel you way through things. You'll discover ways to cope & still stick to your new eating habits.

Hi try sugar free popsicles. they helped me with both my nausea and my thirst, it helps get in more fluids too, yet you also feel like you are eating something. remember you just had major surgery, stay active but don't expect too much from yourself, the energy will come back and then some. all will be well. luck to you, robin

Here are several things that I did. I had a terrible craving for a Checker burger. There was no way my new stoma could take it. I had my kids go out and get me one. Then in private I would take a bite, chew it, taste it and then spit it out. That way I didn't feel deprived, and I had the taste and feel. After I while, I didn't need to do that for the things I craved. It's a little discusting, but it works. Also, I use liquid centrum from Walmart. It works for me. I also got dehydrated twice. Hospitalized once and had to have a pick and a bag for a week. You don't want that!!! Popcycles are great for that. Liquid, and refreshing. Also, they don't fill you up. They have Preggie pops. You get it on the internet. It is for chemo, preggies and bariatric patients. They are popcycles that calm the tummy. I've heard raves about them, but never needed them. Good luck. Cindy
