I have been having troubles keeping my foods down. It has been this way for about month now. I got really ill and was put in hospital for a week and was doing pretty well when i was released. I now seem to have difficult time keeping foods down again. Meat is the worst even when i had it purreed i had troubles. I just wish i could find something that would give me the nutruitions that i need. Protein drinks make me ill as that is what started my problem of being sent to hospital last time. Now i am afraid to drink them again. Any suggestions would be helpful. What i really what is a yummy salad. December 26 i will be two months post op.

The first 3 months all I could eat was no sugar added apple sauce, grits and low carb yogart I would be really sick if I ate meat and protien shakes liked to have killed me I would be so sick but a friend that had the surgery many years ago told me to drink hot tea that it would take the nausea away and relax my pouch so that I could eat and it really helped me so try some hot tea any kind will do I used plain old Lipton with cream after I started drinking tea the nausea went away and I was able to eat most all meats and veggies

I was fine until about my 5th or 6th week. I started getting sick right after eating. Sorry to be blunt, but I would throw up stomach acid, but no food. My doctor suggested I take a Zantac every morning on an empty stomach for a week or so to help my stomach heal. It worked wonders! After about a week, I quit getting sick. Now I keep a bottle of Zantac and if I ever eat anything that makes me feel that way, I take one. Different food irritate different people and sometimes it causes small stomach ulcers and and overproduction of stomach acid. I'm not sure this is exactly what's wrong with you, but it couldn't hurt to try. Jennifer Williams

I thank each of you for your help. I went to the doctors this past week and we made some med changes and hoping that this will take away the feeling I have been having. I have stopped throwing up my foods and now i just get the dry heves and just get mucus. Will be on Nexium and will see him in three weeks to see if this has helped. One thing i do know that i can not even have a sip of something after i eat as that will cause this to happen. again thanks to all.........sherri

I had my surgery in March, 1999. The past two years I have really been sick. I just had my Gallbladder out 7/04. I also had a blockage in my intestine. Now my bile is not moving down like it should and I have spasms at the end of my intestines. I have to take pain meds all the time. I am on Nexium, Pepsid I have taken all kinds of meds to relieve the spasms. Nothing is working.
