Leslie as we get further out we find we can tolerate more foods and so we tend to eat them or crave them even. Go back to the very beginning after you had wls. See if maybe you can eat smaller portions of food. Exercise more or change your routine even. Drink more fluids. Eating the right foods is the most important thing to do though. I eat more veggies and fruits now, but I also crave more carbs now. Yes I do eat chips and cookies every now and then and I don't deprive myself of what I crave. I just don't eat as much of what I crave. Get some help with the depression. That will cause you to mess up your eating habits as well. Consult a nutritionist. Talk to your surgeon and see what he says. Eating more carbs will make you crave more and drinking less water or fluids will also. Occuoying your time will help you get back on track and stay. Eat raw veggies like carrots and apples they have rough texture and will cause the appetitie to lessen. Use a sugar substitutue always. Drink decaf always as caffein will slow you weightloss. I have read this some where and I noticed that cause I drik coffee just about everyday I don't have the energy as I used to. I hope I have helped. If you need to talk email me anytime. Irish

Also, check your habits. Sometimes as we get further out we begin getting sloppy on some things. I caught myself drinking with meals. I started snacking when I was bored at work. Started putting a few chips next to my sandwich for lunch. Eating two slices of bread on my sandwich for lunch (lol). Forgetting my vitamins, forgetting to charg what I ate, that sort of thing. You would be suprised at the things that slip in while unawares. Hope this helps.

Wow! I'm so glad I'm not alone. I've been getting the same advice about going back to the way it was right after WLS. I have only gained a few pounds back so far, but I'm still 62 lbs away from my goal weight. I've lost 110 lbs so far. My husband had his surgery about 1 month before me. He lost 150 lbs and gained back 30 lbs. We both feel like we're about to eat more than we should and that we are starting to snack on junk too much. The one thing that helps us the most is having plenty of the right foods around and turning off the TV. The best thing we can all do is avoid TV and keep very busy. When I'm busy with other things, I don't eat even half as much as I do when I'm bored and sitting in front of the TV. Hope we all get it together soon and get back to where we're supposed to be. Good luck! And please email anytime you want some support. It's hard to eat while you're typing! (smile) Jennifer Williams
