if your pouch starts out at 1 ounce how do you fit your water in?
My pouch holds about 2 ounces. Eventually, the doctor said, it will hold 6-8 ounces as it stretches. It will not, however, get any larger than tha****er, and all liquids, pass through the stoma (opening) of your pouch quickly because there are no solids - since there is no protein in them, it doesn't really matter. We sip the liquids so that they can flow through smoothly. Someone here likened it to draining a sink - even if the sink is draining slow, it won't overflow as long as the water is not pouring in too fast. Hope that helps.

Hey Kellie ! I am a big water drinker. I am 5 months post op (open RNY) and I was drinking all 60 oz one oz. at a time. But I almost lost my marbles a few times in the first few weeks.
It gets easier. You just learn how to walk around with a water bottle on hand all day and sip, sip sip. It sounds like a lot of work, but it's really no big deal after a few months. It's easier once your little tummy stretches out a little too. I think my stomach is about 4 ounces now........ Avalon
