Stomach grumbling ???
Has anyone had the experience of their stomach grumbling all the time, I guess these are what I would consider "hunger pangs" ,you know that feeling of a slight burning in the stomach, that indicates hunger.
I am 6 wks post op and still on soft foods, I eat more than 3x per day because I don't eat much at one sitting. I haven't ever really had the sensation of being "stuffed" but I have felt satisfied.
Last night I ate Lean Cusine Canneloni, two small canneloni, and was able to fini**** I was definitely satisfied. Now I am all worried that my pouch is bigger than everyone elses because I was able to get this down. I have lost 30lbs. I am very occasionally satisfied on a few bites, like of tuna salad on crackers, but then hungry 2-3 hours later (with the hunger pangs). Does this make sense to anyone else or am I "unusual"
Thanks in advance for any replies
Hi Ellen
I too feel the same way. I am 6 weeks out now and have lost 31 lbs and feel really good but every once in a while I get the "grumbles" too. I try really hard to ignore them but if they persist I have a saltine (low fat) cracker and that helps. I eat it really slow so it has time to fill me up. So far this has been working good for me. Good luck on your journey and much success !!
hi ellen i am to experiancing hungay pangs and tummy grumbling. i try to ignore them i too sometimes over eat but i use my scale 90 percent of the time i am 7 weeks out and had the lap band other than that i am feeling fine. if you come up with a answer please let me know i don't feel
quite alone now thanks for your info. ruth
Ellen, try drinking some protein or when you can have solids try a protein bar or part of one. Grumbles can come from not eating enough protein at a sitting. Try to stay away from the crackers and carbs, they cause more hunger because they leave the stomach quickly. When I was on soft foods I'd eat a little cottage cheese or some peanut butter w/o it on anything. Besure not to drink right away either.
I think this is the best advice so far. After many years of dieting and exercising to no avail, I think I am a nutritional expert. Everything I have read indicates that you should eat protein first at every meal, and if you aren't getting at least 60 grams a day try a protein supplement. Also, a friend of mine says that a sugar free popsicle works for her because it is cold.
