STOPPED LOSING AT 10 MONTHS OUT RYN_ HELP
I know you want encouragement...you don't want to hear that at 10 months I went into a mother of all stalls which is still continuing, and I am now almost 3 years out, regained 20 lbs in the intervening time, and have 50 lbs to lose.....what can I tell you? The body is strange and does what it feels it has to. if you do not lose another pound, be thankful for what yo have lost, over a hundred pounds is immense...no diet could get you where you are now...focus on remaining at that weight loss and possibly tweak things to lose some more....wishing you all the best on your journey and hope you make goal.
From what you have described, you haven't actually stopped losing weight. Rather, your rate of weight loss has slowed down. You may want to check with the nutritionist at your surgeon's office. My best advice would be to vary your diet a little. Make sure that you are getting enough fluids and protein. Remember that we need complex carbs such as veggies, whole grains, and fruit. Be careful with the fruit since it may be high in carbs and calories. Only you would know how dairy affects you. Cheese is usually ok. If you can tolerate whey or milk, protein powders allow you to get in a lot of protein without a lot of calories. You may want to get a calorie counting book that also lists carbs and protein grams. Or, you can use one of the free online services that do that.
Exercise may get to be a problem this time of the year. I currently use an exercycle. I can't afford going to a gym or fitness club. You may want to look to one of them for exercise. Or, you can go to the Exercise and Fitness Forum and ask for suggestions for exercises to jump kick your weight loss.

Hi Tina,
I was wondering how you made out...did you start losing again? I am in the same situation. I had RNY on 2/1/10 and stopped losing around 12/1/10. I hope I am still gonna lose but fearful that I may be eating too much. I'm was gonna start counting calories but not really sure how many calories or fat grams we should be eating a day. I would be interested to see how you are doing.
Thanks,
Dana

Same situation here. I had my sleeve surgery May 2010 and lost 50 lbs by Nov 2010. I am still at the same weight now (Feb) that I was in November. I try to be easy on myself--glad not to have gained over the holidays, but I know I need to get back on track. I'm not drinking protein drinks like I should and my biggest problem is grazing. Every day I tell myself I'm going to get back on track but seeing the scales stay at the same weight every day is killing my motivation!
