Prevacid and getting sick after....
My question about Prevacid and getting sick after eating may have already been talked about but I have to this instant not come across the right area of the forum.
I had surgery on Jan. 30th, so I am right at 4 months out and very happy with the results thus far.
I had RNY and to date have had no real issues and my loss of weight has been stable until about 2 weeks ago?
I started at 343 and have made it to right at 250 and teeter within a pound or so! I would like to get it down a bit more but have to say I can live with my new weight as I was not living at all with the extra 90 pounds I lost!!!
Here is the question for smarter minds than myself....
Like all post op patients I am on and acid reducer... my doctors preference is Prevacid as he likes it, and thats what he said use, and he is the doctor!
When I have not taken the Prevacid I don't seem to feel full and I have stopped getting sick after eating which I thought was a good thing the not getting sick part. When I do take the Prevacid I noticed this morning for example I was full after 2-3 bites and proceeded to go throw up everything I ate within 5 mins of eating it. I hate throwing up but I take it as a warning sign and it sure gets your attention if you are doing more than a couple of times a day!!! Early on I would throw up but as I slowly stopped taking my acid reducer then slowly I stopped throwing up!?? Is that weird or just me??
So my theory is this, the abundance of acid in my stomach must allow me to eat a little more in that it's signaling my brain that I need more food? I am thinking the extra acid is sending the feed me... something signal!!!!
I have also noticed I graze a little more than I did a month or so ago. My satisfaction level is not what it was. When I take the acid reducer in this case Prevacid 30 mg.'s I feel full fast and will absolutely get sick as a dog if I have very much more than a couple of bites.
I hope someone can relate to this experience and
let me know if this is valid or in my head!
I had up until today missed a few days taking the meds... cause I thought I knew it all and didn't go fill the script when I should have!!! Now that I am back on them I am wondering will my weight loss pick back up since I can't keep the food down or eat as much as I thought.
I again don't mind my current weight but I am hopeful to get about 15 more... Any thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome... Please tell me your story so I can figure me out! lol
I am staying on the Prevacid now no matter what! I love feeling full even though the getting sick part is not a favorite thing to do!
Thanks
