always thirsty

My Bypass surgery was Nov.10,2009. I stay thirsty. I mean like what to gulp down some water 24/7. Ice cold water is all I want to drink and I can't even eat without drinking some. I get so cotton mouth and it is driving me crazy. I am so scared I will strech out my pouch, I try not to drink with food but I am having a hard time with it. I can handle having certain types of foods making me ill, but this thirst is driving me crazy. I know I do not have diabities so what is up?

Me too, I wake up dry mouthed at night and drink a bottle of water overnight...I'm told I don't snore so it is not sleep apnea making me wake up...I am thirsty all day too, can't drive an hour in the car or do anything  without sip, sip, sip, from my ever present  water bottle...and my surgery was at the beginning of 2008.

My ophthalmologist says my eyes are dry as I don't blink often....have noticed an increase in these symptoms since surgery. Glad someone else has the same problem, hoping others will post here and maybe we can find out what's wrong ...I drink 2-3 L of water a day in addition to other liquids like tea and coffee...but seem to need to drink round the clock 24/7
