Try Unjury. It's a protein drink.( If you don't like it keep trying protein drinks till you find one). Stop buying the chocolate. You are sabatoging yourself. You need the protein. I know you know that. The soft meats are best. Stay away from the tough meat. Beans, You can even get an unflavored Unjury and put it into the soup and that will give you 20 extra protein. Hang in there.

Hi,thanks for the advice,I don't think we have Unjury(in England) but will see what else is available and give it a go.I have tried chicken and soft cooked meats but still struggle-I think I'm just getting bored with the same old foods, and yes,I will stop hitting the chocolate!

Jessie,
Hang in there. It does get better. Going from eating what ever we wanted to eating practically nothing is super hard. The first 3 months post op I was so sick. I litteraly threw up what ever I ate. I was in and out of the hospital with dehydration, it was horrible. Things did get better and now I can eat anything. And let me tell you, that's not a good thing! I am a chocolholic! I can eat it everyday, all day if I don't stop myself. Just lately I have stopped it. I don't ever want to be 300lbs. again. I know you can do this. Stay strong ! - Kari

I had a horrible time eating anything after surgery and this went on for at least 18-24 months.  I literally threw up everything and was in and out of the hospital, eventually ending up with a feeding tube.  Do not go that route.

Find protien you can handle.  I eventually found Greek yogurt which worked wonderfully for me.  The other food that worked was beans, and I could mash them up and they tasted good and I could eat them.

I'm 5 years out now and I can eat anything.  I still don't eat much red meat, if any at all.  For the most part I am vegetarian.

Good luck to you.
