Taking Back Contol - Today
Hi,
I have not been here for a long time, but have decided to take back control of my eating.
I am starting the 5-day pouch test tomorrow and will begin the job of losing the 40 lbs that I have put on since my WLS in January 2006. I would love to have a fellow member join me so that we can become each others support system.
I think having someone facing the same issues - at the same time-would be a great help. Contact me if you feel the same way.
Thanks,
Lori

Hi Lori,
I am standing in similar shoes and about to attempt the pouch test too. How is it going?
I had WLS 12/22/08. I have lost 125 pounds but not met my goal. I need to lose another 50 to do so.
I have completely fallen off the WLS wagon. From vitamins to protein and water I am not following the program. I have to take control now or I will start to climb again.
I would love to hear from you. I am crossing my fingers for your success!

Hello Lori,
I have been away from the board for a long time and have let myself gain back some weight since my surgery 5 years ago. I came back here this week feeling terrible because I thought I was probably the only one who has gotten off program and regained some of the weight I worked so hard to lose. I would really like to join you and the others who have responded to your post. I know that the problem is me, my band is just sitting here waiting to do it's part. I know that to get back to where I was I must get motivated and take the time to eat right.
I think we would all benefit if we could encourage each other when we are tempted to "just eat what's in the fridge" rather than what we really need, so count me in!
Thanks,
connie

I am in the same place as all of you. I've had my lap band since 2006 and have been stuck. I lost 5 of the 10lbs gained during the holidays and was not motivated to control my eating. I have 45lbs to loose to get to my goal weight and it feels so elusive. I would like to become part of the support system as well. Hip, Hip, Hurray for us all--at least we have recognized that we need to make a big change and we are verbalizing it (in writing). This is the first step to change which can be empowering.
Count me in. I had a baby - 4 months ago and am breastfeeding. I have 30 - 40 lbs to lose - some of it is baby weight from this baby and 25 lbs of it was from my first baby. WLS allowed me to have my two handsome boys but pregnancy required eating carbs in the form of whole grains. Now I'm stuck eating bread and other crap. Craving sugar and not caring about dumping etc. I have to get it under control and yet modify with the breastfeeding. I picked up a double jogging stroller and plan to start walking with my boys. I tried the pouch test before but don't think I made it through the 5 days. I'll have to look and see if I have the "ingredients" to get started.
How has things been going for you??
