I had the VGS done back on 10/5/09 and my taste buds have changed drastically. NOTHING taste the same!!!! Worse not better (thankfully), but at the same time no more than I can eat I would like it to taste good. Has anyone else have this happen? I also became lactose intolerant from the surgery - could that have something to do with it?

Most people do become lactose intolerant after surgery - no big surprise there try skim or 1% milk you might do better.  as far as taste buds yep they change and they will continue to change - no explanation found for that one.  Happens to us all.  and it makes no sense - surgery was on our tummy not on tongue.

Hang in there. It's an adjustment. be open to trying new things ..

Hahaha, I thought I was losing my mind. NOTHING tastes the same. I don't even enjoy my coffee anymore. I hope  it gets better.

Same happened to me.  I agree somethings for the good, pasta sauces just don't taste as good as they used to so less tempting there.  I absolutely love peanut butter on apples, brussell sprouts, cabbage and occasionally peanut m and m's.  I also crave sweets more than I have in my whole life.  I was never ever a sweets eater always choosing pasta/carbs over sweets.  Now my body craves sugar and I get that in the form of fruit.  I eat a bit of fruit at every meal to keep the carb monster at bay, even if it's only 3 or 4 grapes it keeps me satisfied.
