7 days post-op and starving!
I didn't believe it was possible. I chose to have the Super VSG because they remove most of the stomach, leaving you with less than 100 gr. of pouch space, PLUS they remove the grenalin secreting gland which signals hunger. If anything, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep anything down. WRONG!!
At 7 days post-op and my 2nd day home, all I can think about is Food! My doc put me on a clear liquid diet for the next 2-3 weeks, no proteins, no jello, nothing bu****er, juice, clear broths and a little milk and most of the time I feel as if I'm going to faint from the hunger. I don't know what to do. I'm lightheaded and my stomach hurts constantly as it did when I was exremely hungry pre-op.
I don't think it's head hunger, I mean I am really suffering here and my doc is not at all helpful. He insists that I have to go through it so that my stomach heals. Far be it from me to want to destroy his handiwork but sheesh! Why do I have to be the exception? I'm begenning to regret I ever undertook this course of action and I'm afraid that this attitude wil undermine my future determination to succeed. HELP!

hi i am 6days post op and im not hungery at all i am on a clear liquid diet for the first 7 days and then i get a pureed diet for 8-14 days and then a soft diet form 15-30 days then day 31 to 6 months they call it a regular diet. The doctors that have done my surgery have a great book that gives you a meal plan and shopping list for each part of the program. My problem hasbeen that all sugar free food are so sweet and all the clear soups seem to be very salty. i sure it is me but i will be glad to move to the part of the menu. and i havent lost any weight. hang in there youll make it.
