Thirst

I've not had surgery yet - considering the gastric sleeve - one of my main concerns is thirst.  I'm a big drinker now - not soft drinks, mainly water and unsweet tea.  Reading all the posts I'm concerned after surgery that I won't be able to drink enough to satisfy my thirst - I'm really more worried about this than the hunger.  Especially, in the summer time when I'm cutting grass or working outside, I drink a lot of water.  Can anyone tell me how things will be after surgery?

Hi:
I too struggle getting in all my fluids.  I purchased some sipee cups at Bed, Bath and Beyond to prevent me from gulping my drinks.  It is great that you are not a big soft drink fan.  You should switch to a decaf unsweet tea though.  If you make a goal to drink 8 oz every 90 mins you should be okay.
Good luck on your surgery.

Thanks for the reply - sounds like I'll just have to relearn how I drink - drink constantly instead of waiting until I"m really thirsty.

I see you had the RNY - maybe I'll have to go in that direction - just learned last week that my insurance has declined to pay for Gastric Sleeve which had been my #1 choice - so scared of complications with RNY.  Did you have any?
