feeling like crap
I'm not sure why but today all I can think about is EATING. I have been doing so well and today I have just totally FAILED. I stopped and got vanilla wafers and ate some - not the whole box or anything but it is just like I had to. Now I am beating myself up about it. My surgery was a year ago and I have lost 102 pounds with 38 to go. I don't even know what is triggering this but I just know that it was like I had to screw up. I guess I just get back up and start doing things right, but I am just really mad at myself right now.

Girl, it's okay! You could have done so much worse. A few vanilla wafers never hurt anyone. I have found that usually after I have a "hard" day .... it is followed by an unusally good day!
You have done incredible on this journey! Just do something tomorrow to make up for it! That's the way life is gonna be for us ..... forever .... a daily challenge! Everyone who has had WLS has some type of challenge ...... whether it be controlling sweets, carbs, fats, or proteins; self-image issues, and/or exercise habits. None is worse or better than the other.
Keep plugging sweetie!

Hey there gal.......
We are human. We stumble sometimes thru our lives/
Those of us that have battled being overweight feel like we stumble alot.
We have now been given a tool to help us with this recovery from obesity.
It is never going to replace the human factor we have and we will still stumble sometimes.
The good thing is that I dont think we can fit a whole box of chocolates or a 12 sirloin with baked potato and dessert in our tummies anymore.
Even as we lose weight, I know for myself that when I used to diet, and i cheated, thats when I often said to hell with it and stopped dieting.
Well, our minds are still there.... BUt support and reminders that we take this journey DAILY, help us. Ive been in a whole month stall. no pounds lost at all. I could be beating myself up about it and go on a binge or something, but you know what? It wont do me any good.
How about use a treat once every 2 weeks. Something within your limits that you choose to eat as a treat. We still deserve treats. And it helps with losing weight to have those.
I think the hardest thing we do to ourselves is try to eat like the pre=op/postop diet for the rest of our lives and think that if we go left or right of the MENU road, we are done for.
There are alot of diverse foods/snack foods/ etc that we can and need to incorporate into our daily eating to help us with getting in our required protein and carbs as well as taste good.
Big hugs to you................You are doing wonderful. You will continue to do so.
(I eat parmesan goldfish every day) they are my treat.
And when you get to that preset goal, if you bounce a little back up and stay at a certain weight, dont beat yourself up over that either. THOSE predetermined WEIGHT BY HEIGHT AND BODYFAT are just guesstimates for doctors and us to use. There are usually a 10-20lb difference lower or higher that is the real set weight for our body types.
I am at 180 today. I want to be at 150 by 1 yr. if i dont get to that and I stay here, I am happy.
If you portion out a treat every once in awhile and dont keep the large boxes of tempting foods around, you will do fine.
Food for thought:
Every night we get to close out the day , whether it was filled with positive experience or something that brought us down. The next morning guess what? We get another day to be blessed with and try again.
Just dont ever give up! You made the most important choice for yourself in this journey! Taking back the You inside you. Thats the most important thing.
I say HOORAYYY!!!! Youve done Marvelous!!! Keep it up gal!!!!!!
