How much do I eat????
I am on my 5th week out of surgery and really just not sure at this point how much I should be eating. I never feel full, but I have gotten to the "oh my god I am having a heart attack" place once or twice.
I am only eating my 3 meals and day and TRYING my best to remember my protein shake but my days are pretty consistant with what is going in my mouth.
For example, today I have had
3oz of egg with a big of FF Milk and 1.5oz of cheese
3oz of tuna with 1 oz of cheese
Dinner will be about 2oz of chicken and 1.5oz of cheese
Is this about right? Should I be eating 4-5 oz's a meal?
Thanks for your help!!!

You're actually doing better than I am. My surgery was 10/15 and I'm only eating about an ounce at a time. Today I had a spoonful of peanut butter and OJ for breakfast. About an ounce of seafood salad at lunch, a ritz cracker with laughing cow cheese for dinner, and another spoonful of peanut butter. That's all I'll get in today. I think you're doing fine. My program told me I should be about and ounce to an ounce and a half at a month - working toward 3-5 ounces at about three months out. I am with you on the protein - most days I get the supplements in (well at least one of them), but today I just couldn't face it - I have yet to find one I can stomach. I am looking forward to being able to tolerate a protein bar - that will be heaven.
I am 5 weeks out and I am in the same boat with jhp..I am barely getting 1-2 ounces down. I will try the carnation instant breafast, because that is where my biggest issue is. I need something easy and quick I can have at my desk since I am back to work. Thanks for asking this question...it was very helpful
I haven't tried that one. I'll give it a whirl. I have lost 33 pounds so I'm thrilled with that. I'm very happy with the weight loss, and I have no hunger so the lack of eating doesn't really bother me. I'm very glad I had the surgery. I'm halfway to my goal - I weighed 216.5 pre-op and I'm down to 183 - my goal is 150. I was surprised to find the food I was least able to tolerate was scrambled eggs. I don't have to go to work today so I decided to try them again - scrambled egg with a little ham and cheese - so far so good - I managed about 1/2 an egg. I had two friends who had surgery the same day I did. They can eat larger quantities than I can and are doing really well advancing their diets. I think I'll get there - I'm just advancing a little slower. You'll get there too.
I am not sure I am doing this right..my surgery was 12-14-09 and my tummy rumbles not sure if its gas or telling me to feed it??
I eat a breakfast bar then have some lunch meat thin sliced and couple crackers for lunch a mid day snack of a fruit cup then dinner is random 1/2 tuna sandwich or soup I am drinking about 32 ozs of water total for a day.
I have not lost any weight in a week, the first 3 weeks I lost a total of 27 pounds so not sure if I am doing something wrong.
Thank you
