hello I have a question
I've not used a diet pill just try to choose healthier snacks, I know easier said than done but I am in the same boat. Some times it only takes protein and some times I need the crunch IE low fat popcorn. Best of luck, I don't have the magic. Or try water, I do no dehydration sometimes feels like hunger. Maybe I need to try changing what I am doing like they tell you to do to see if you really are in labor. LOL Any one have the magic answer???
Diet pills are not safe, and I would not recommend them to anyone. They've been proven ineffective over and over again, even prescription ones, and most have been taken off the market.
Your appetite is part mental, part physical, so working on suppressing the appetite with medication isn't going to completely solve the problem. Regular mealtimes, with no snacking, and limiting processed foods will help. For example, for the same amount of calories in a protein bar, I can eat a whole plateful of salad with 2 or 3 ounces of cooked chicken breast on top (Fosters makes a pre-cooked grilled chicken breast which I can pop in the microwave to have at lunchtime), half a cucumber, and 2 tablespoons of dressing. Yummy! Now, it might take me an hour to eat my salad, but in the end, I have had a LOT of chewing, 20 grams of lean protein, a bit of necessary fat which tells my stomach and my brain that I am satisfied, and plenty of fiber which keeps my gut clean. :) And it makes me feel great!
When you get a craving, I would first have a cup of tea with Splenda or any other no-calorie sweetener, such as Truvia, to sweeten it. Oftentimes, a nice warm drink and something to do with your hands is all you need to feel that you are treating yourself. Decaf Earl Grey has a yummy citrus tang, and I LOVE Chai!! Both have no calories, keep me full for the moment, and help to get through the tough "You're hungry!" message you might be getting either from your mind or your pouch.
Caffeine in large amounts is not recommended after RNY because it can cause dehydration, stomach upset, and diarrhea. But in small amounts, it is an appetite suppressant. Tea that is not decaffeinated has about 25% the caffeine as coffee, so it might be the safest bet if you truly want to try caffeine--check with your doc to see what he says. DON'T go for sodas--they will wreck your pouch, according to my MD, and those chemicals are not good for anyone! :)
Anyway, the RNY is a good tool for rapid weight loss, but most of us here are food-obsessed, and unravelling the mental knots around our relationship with food is what takes the REAL work and makes us successful in the long run! If you stop weighing, measuring, counting calories, and exercising, REGAIN is likely to happen, and that would suck after all your hard work!!
Good luck, Hondurian Queen! You look gorgeous and we are pulling for you! :)
