I'm three and a 1/2 weeks out of my RNY and starting to eat some solid food(extremely small ammounts).  However I am having a hard time getting in all of my water and worse yet all of my protein.  Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?  I also would love to hear some high protein snack ideas.  Thanks!!

You are probably going to need to do protein shakes at least for a while to get all your protein.  You can get samples of lots of different shakes at www.vitalady.com.  You can also get unflavored protein powder to add to foods to boost the protein.  I put it in all kinds of stuff, like yogurt, pudding, mashed potatoes, soups, stews, beans, and chili.

Have your tried Greek yogurt?  It's very high in protein, much better than regular yogurt.  How about low fat ricotta cheese?  Fat free refried beans with a little shredded cheese?  String cheese?  Or are you still on pureed foods?

I could not force myself to drink a whole protein shake at once, so what I did was use a little shot glass and a timer.  Every 15 minutes, I knocked back a shot of the protein drink.  I played all sorts of drinking games in my head (ones I had never played in real life since I don't drink), and I tried to make it fun.  When the timer would vibrate, I would drink.  It let me get all of my protein in and then some.  Hope this idea helps, D
